Five Maps Across 55 Years: Celebrating the EURE Journal’s Contributions to Urban and Regional Studies

Abstract

The 55th anniversary of the EURE Journal – Latin American Journal of Urban and Regional Studies provide a special occasion to celebrate its achievements and look ahead to new challenges. The journal has established itself as a key platform for the dissemination of knowledge in Latin America. On this anniversary, this special issue seeks to highlight EURE’s contributions over the course of its history. To this end, five leading voices in urban studies in Latin America were invited, not only to revisit the debates developed over these 55 years, but also to outline maps of the current conversation and the potential future challenges facing urban and regional studies in the region. This editorial briefly reconstructs the history of the EURE Journal and then introduces the five articles that make up this special issue.
