These authors present a pioneering research methodology in order to disclose the way the main newspaper of the country has informed, in terms of news or chronicle, the matters related with regional development in Chile. The methodological approach utilized allows them to examine the relevance assigned to the regional question in the press with regard to other economic news and to analize the "message" that is being transmited.
