The text deals with analyzing the theme about the relation between communication and city, in a double perspective: the city a mean of communication and the incorporation of the communicative dimension in urban policies. Both perspectives have more sense, when the globalization procedures require the internationalization of the city, a fortifying local government and the return to the constructer city, therefore, in a wide meaning, the communication acquires a new dimension for the urban development.
